Educational fair to focus on housing opportunities on Kaua’i

LĪHU’E, HI – June 16, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — The Kaua‘i Board of Realtors and the County Housing Agency are sponsoring an educational fair offering comprehensive information on housing opportunities on Kaua’i.

The two-day event will be held this Friday, from 5:30 to 8 pm, and Saturday, from 9 am to 2 pm, at the Līhu’e Civic Center, Pi‘ikoi Building.

There will be approximately 30 exhibitors and several workshops will be offered including: first-time homebuyer programs; foreclosure avoidance, loan modification and short sales; rental property management; and county housing programs.

Other topics that will be covered at the fair are the following:

– How to avoid foreclosure and hold on to your home.
– Financing options available for potential homebuyers and renters.
– How to prepare for purchasing or renting affordable housing units that are scheduled for completion over the next few years.
– How the current fair housing laws affect renters and landlords.
– Property management without a licensed real estate agent
