HONOLULU — Sylvia K. Berrington was sentenced before the Honorable Faye K. Koyanagi in Honolulu District Court for failing to file her annual general excise tax returns for 2000 through 2005. She pled guilty to six counts of willful failure to file her general excise annual returns and was granted a deferred acceptance of guilty plea with a one-year deferral. Berrington, a realtor, failed to pay $25,739 of taxes owed on her general excise returns for the years in which she pled. She agreed to pay a fine of $9,000 and was also assessed court fees.
