HONOLULU, HI - August 5, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Frank Diaz was sentenced on July 28, 2009 before Circuit Court Judge Derrick Chan for multiple tax violations. He pled guilty to all six counts in his criminal tax case which include one count of filing a false and fraudulent tax return for tax year 2006, three counts of failing to file his annual general excise returns for tax years 2003 through 2005 and two counts of failing to file his 2004 and 2005 individual income tax returns.
New value allocation approach applied to Kaua’i condominiums

LĪHU‘E, HI - April 07, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — County officials announced that a new value allocation approach is now being applied to Kaua’i condominiums and resort-zoned properties. After conducting site visits to all condominium properties on the island, the real property assessment office determined that the allocation of values between building and land for these properties needed to take into account differences in view plains and location within each project to better mirror their market values
